Breville – Introduction

Breville was created by Bill O’Brien and Harry Norville in 1932 and the company name is a play on their surnames. Breville was originally formed in order to create radios, but after the Second World War the company started to develop small appliances and soon formed the Breville Research Centre.

Breville rose to prominence in the public eye in the late 1970s, thanks to its range of sandwich toasters. On the back of the success of the Breville Toastie Sandwich Maker, the company added a wide range of kitchen appliances to its production line.

Breville is now part of the Pulse Home Product Company. In 2001, Pulse became part of the Alba Group.

The Breville brand offers an extensive range of kitchen appliances including irons, kettles, juicers and blenders. The range also includes the Antony Worrall Thompson collection, a selection of appliances that have been endorsed by the celebrity chef.
