Ice cream you scream..

Apologies for the delay in delivering blog posts over the last couple of weeks, I've had an extended Easter break.

With all of this delightful weather I've started to test out ice cream recipes using my Magimix 22003. Although my kids tend to prefer ice lollies made out of orange squash this apple ice cream recipe from Sainsburys has gone down a treat over the last couple of days.

Free food and drink

I popped along to a great exhibition at the London Olympia yesterday evening and was delighted to receive free smoothie samples and some tasty snacks too.

The Muller Vitality Show was packed with various health, beauty and food organisations selling their wares, doling out samples to entice visitors. I was impressed with the yogi tea stand - their organic teas are very soothing and I've stocked enough to fill my kitchen cupboards for a month or two. The show is on until the 2nd April so you still have time to visit.

Spring has not sprung

Where has the sunshine gone.

A week or so ago, it felt positively Spring like, I even managed to spring clean the house from top to bottom. The kitchen was the most challenging, I battled through jars of mouldy jam hidden in the depths of cupboards, spilt rice and pasta. I polished all my kitchen appliances till they were gleaming. I felt very pleased. But now it's cold again and I haven't got the same zing in my step.

I feel a cosy night in coming on. I might try a new cake recipe, perhaps something chocolatey is in order. I must keep my kitchen in its current state of cleanliness though. This chocolate cake looks nice, I had given up chocolate for lent but just this once I think I'll treat myself, tee hee.

Have an enjoyable and relaxing day from us all at the Kitchen Appliances Guide

Why not treat yourself to a juicer or a smoothie maker over the weekend or suggest your offspring buy you something nice for your kitchen. The Kitchen Appliances Guide is a great place to decide which model is for you.

Pocket Corkscrew just what I need..

Now I'm partial to a glass of wine and although the latest screw capped bottles of wine that are appearing in supermarkets make opening wine a breeze, I prefer a bottle of wine with a cork.

I've just spotted this handy and very petite corkscrew from Suck UK, which will go very nicely with the rest of the stainless steel appliances in my kitchen. It'll certainly come in handy in the summer months when I host a bbq or two.
